Director Brad Hasse Takes On Action News and Leaf Blowers

Director/editor Brad Hasse has been busy this fall. He’s out with a pair of fun new spots for ScienceMoms + Philadelphia’s 6ABC-TV

Science Moms - Leaf Blower

Working with agency Potential Agency Coalition through his own prodco, Flying Cactus, Brad Hasse directed and edited this PSA warning about the dangers of toxic fumes that come from gas-powered leaf blowers.

Asking your neighbors to swap their old, polluting stuff for electric stuff can be uncomfortable. But even more uncomfortable? The thought of our kids breathing in carbon monoxide, nitrous oxide, or carcinogenic hydrocarbons from a nearby mower or leaf blower.

A research team at Edmunds compared how a two stroke gas-powered leaf blower and a Ford pickup truck release these toxic gases. The results show the leaf blower spewing seven times the nitrous oxide (which causes smog), 13.5 times the carbon monoxide, and nearly 300 times the hydrocarbons as the pickup !

6ABC-TV - Perfect Fit

Director Brad Hasse and Bowstring Studios produced this light-hearted spot welcoming Rick Williams as the 11pm anchor of Philadelphia’s 6ABC-TV’s Action News, replacing the beloved local legend Jim Gardner at the desk.
